President’s Message
It is the vision of the National Business & Disability Council that some day
soon we will all live in a world where people with disabilities will live simply
as people - being treated with dignity and respect and having the same rights and
responsibilities as others.
We are grateful to you, our NBDC members, business and community partners for bringing us closer to that goal. It is you, who have actively recruited, hired, accommodated and promoted employees with disabilities. It is you who have made your facilities accessible and provided staff training so that your businesses in the banking, hospitality, retailing, and other industries are effectively serving customers with disabilities and accessing this largely untapped and lucrative consumer market. It is you who have demonstrated a commitment to individuals with disabilities as both employees and customers and served as a role model to other businesses by sponsoring and taking part in conferences and seminars and career expos.
But we have a way to go before we meet our goals nationally and internationally. We value our partnerships with you and your organizations and look forward to continuing to partner with you to achieve our mutual goals.
